If you have found your way to this article then you are probably searching the Internet for a solution to the 3 red light problem on your Xbox 360. You are not the only one! There are lots of people that have encountered this problem and have to send it back to Microsoft.
Before you send it back this article will give you a few things you can try to fix your Xbox and get back to your games today.
Soldering Accessories
1. The first thing you can try is unplugging everything from the mains and all the leads and connectors, also remember to remove the hard drive and then leave it for 5 to 10 minutes.
Make sure also if you are using an extension lead to get rid of this if possible and plug the Xbox directly into the wall socket.
After 5 to 10 minutes go back to your Xbox and plug everything in except for the hard drive and then see if it works. Sometimes this can solve the problem as it clears the cache in a hard drive and allows the Xbox to reset itself.
2. If the above did not work then what you could do is the towel trick. You may have already heard of this method and although it will fix your Xbox for a little while it is not recommended. What the towel trick does is heat up the motherboard and that it allows the soldering to reconnect for a little while, but once the motherboard cools down you will have the same problem again.
3. Lastly if this has not solve the problem you can try this method. All you need to do is stand to your Xbox vertically and placed one hand on the bottom of the Xbox on one hand on the other side of the Xbox and squeeze!
Although this sounds like a weird thing to do it can actually repositioned the motherboard and allow the soldering to reconnect without having to take the Xbox apart.
Do not squeeze it too hard and just applied firm pressure and it might well solve your problem!
I hope this article has given you a few things you can try to fix your Xbox and if the above tips have not got rid of the 3 flashing red lights then your final option would be to ring Microsoft and get them to repair it for you!
Good luck!
